Jay Jarvis - State Farm Agency in Germantown, MD is looking for a friendly, professional and organized Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our customers and visitors.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Receptionist, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our office. You will welcome customers, answer incoming calls, assist with scheduling, respond to general questions and help make sure each customer receives a friendly and professional experience.
You will work closely with the agency team and help connect customers with the appropriate team member when they need assistance with their insurance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Welcome customers and visitors to the office in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to the appropriate team member
- Assist customers who visit or contact the office
- Schedule and confirm customer appointments
- Respond to general questions and determine the appropriate person to assist the customer
- Take accurate messages and follow up when needed
- Assist with customer communications by phone, email and other office channels
- Maintain an organized and professional reception area
- Assist with basic administrative and clerical duties
- Help maintain accurate customer information and office records
- Receive and organize incoming mail and office correspondence
- Support the agency team with day-to-day office activities
- Provide a positive and professional experience for every customer who contacts the agency
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous receptionist, front desk, administrative or customer service experience preferred
- Friendly and professional communication style
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to answer phones and assist multiple customers in a professional manner
- Comfortable using computers, email and standard office technology
- Dependable, punctual and professional
- Ability to learn new systems and processes
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others
INSURANCE EXPERIENCE
Insurance experience is helpful but is not required.
You do not need to hold an insurance license to apply for this Receptionist position. Training will be provided on agency procedures and systems.
